About the Author

Sarah E.K. Smith is assistant professor and Canada Research Chair in Art, Culture and Global Relations, based in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at Western University. Her writing and curatorial projects focus on contemporary art, cultural diplomacy, and creative labor. In 2015 she published the monograph General Idea: Life & Work (Art Canada Institute), which is available in English and French. She is a co-founder of the North American Cultural Diplomacy Initiative and a member of the International Cultural Relations Research Alliance. In 2015 she held the Canada‐US Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Public Diplomacy at the University of Southern California.Sascha Priewe is Director of Collections and Public Programs at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. Before joining the Aga Khan Museum, he was the Associate Vice President, Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships, at the Royal Ontario Museum, and Curator: Chinese and Korean Collections at the British Museum. He is a co-founder of the North American Cultural Diplomacy Initiative and author of Museum Diplomacy: Parsing the Global Engagement of Museums. He serves on the boards of ICOM Canada, the Ontario Museum Association, and is the inaugural chairperson of the Global Leadership Council of the Idaho Museum of International Diaspora.
