Established in 2006 by Brenda McConnell and Joy Vogelgesang, Kona Stories features all genres of books.  Find the latest hard cover, best seller or an old classic, this bookstore is fully stocked with 10,000 titles.  They specialize in Hawaiiana, children's books and educational toys, whimsical locally made gifts and 32 lines of greeting cards.  Kona Stories offers a unique consignment program for local, self-published writers who need an opportunity to market their work. Kona Stories hosts Children's STEM events and Storytimes which supports early reading and encourages children to unplug.  If you are looking to meet new people in the community, consider joining one of Kona Stories book clubs.  Book clubs meet twice a month with a large variety of topics.  Kona Stories welcomes everyone and is proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Readers of every genre come and enjoy this Kona treasure which features many book clubs, writers groups, workshops and author events each week. Not to be missed is the fabulous ocean view and the Hawaiian cultural events in our courtyard at Keauhou Shopping Center.   Curl up on comfy chairs and pet a cat.  Come talk story with the owners who are in the shop almost every day.
