Nancy Bo Flood’s books include the award-winning Warriors in the Crossfire and Cowboy Up! Ride the Navajo Rodeo.  Nancy has lived and worked as a teacher, counselor, researcher and writer in settings as diverse as Malawi, Hawaii, Japan, Saipan, Samoa and most recently the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona.

Her recent book Water Runs Through This Book is a multigenre exploration of one of life’s most essential ingredients: water.  Nancy presents insights into the essential nature of water in many of its myriad aspects, ranging from how water sustains life to how tears aid in healing, the use of water in sacred traditions, and water as a key agricultural and industrial resource.  Her test is as compelling and multifaceted as water itself, winding together lyrical prose, thought-provoking factual information, cogent conservation arguments and poetry.  The package is further brought to vivid life through the immediacy of images by award-winning photographer Jan Sonnenmair.

Kate Lindman is the newly published author of Chips, HoHos, and Murder. For her book, Kate drew on her experiences of owning a bed and breakfast, extensive travels and advocacy for persons with disabilities. Kate likes to cook creatively, particularly breakfasts for her guests.

Born in Wisconsin, Kate was a peace corps volunteer in Senegal and lived and traveled in the U.S., Thailand, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world. She received a BA in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin and did graduate work at Antioch College. While in college, Kate took multiple creative writing classes and published poetry, including one in French. So began her dream of one day writing a book. Kate has lived in Hawaii since 2001.

Kate describes her writing as a sometimes arduous but mostly fun journey. She is currently working on book 2 of the Alice series.

Alice K Lambert inherited a fortune from her second husband who tragically died in a suspicious car accident. With her new-found wealth, Alice opened Lambert House, a large and lavish ADA-certified bed and breakfast on Maui near Pa`ia. She is a fabulous cook and baker, serving exquisite gourmet breakfasts. Alice also enjoys good champagne in the morning, surfing, diving, traveling and advocating for persons with disabilities.

Most of her guests are friendly and eager to explore the diversity of Maui. However, one day, nasty Thelma and gentle Elmer Ford arrive from Reno with Thelma immediately announcing that Elmer has the brain of an eight-year-old. He had suffered a stroke and brain injury while on the job as a firefighter. Thelma is a very angry woman, taking out most of her frustrations on Elmer, even cutting him off from his close family and friends.

Within two days, Thelma has insulted and berated the other B&B guests, staff and most everyone she met on Maui. After an unpleasant zip line tour, Thelma spent the evening in her room, gorging on chips and HoHos.

That was her last known activity. It took two days to find her body at the site of a new hot tub. Thelma was murdered and everyone is a suspect.
