Gary Robert Hoff is an editorial cartoonist, artist and teacher who has lived on the island of Hawaii Since 2000. He is the author of an award-winning drawing text as well as two books of his bi-lingual editorial cartoons published in Taiwan, where he and his wife worked for 8 years. His art has been exhibited at the Honolulu Academy of the Arts and has been selected for the Art in Public Places program of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Hoff taught Visual Arts at Kamehameha High School, Hawaii Campus, for 16 years until his retirement in 2018. He holds a BFA from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master’s Degree from Indiana University. Gary Lives in North Kohala with his wife, writer Linda Petrucelli, and several cats.
Gary Hoff, long-time Hawaii artist, has recently published Hoff Draws Hawaii, a collection of more than 100 editorial cartoons originally appearing in the Hawaii Tribune-Herald where he has freelanced for the last twenty years.
