"I have been a board-certified family physician since 1999 and am also board certified in integrative medicine.  In 2006, I came closer to death than I care to admit.  There I was, a thirty-eight-year-old, a previously “healthy” doctor who almost died.  Luckily, I did not die, and in 2007 I started a journey to achieve optimal wellness.  During this journey, I realized the training I had received in medical school was not adequate for achieving optimal wellness, and I became obsessed with getting the information I needed to transform my health.  In this book, I turned years of research and experience into simple concepts and actionable steps that will enable others to easily achieve what they desire for their health.  Many people focus on “not dying” instead of truly living because they simply do not realize there is another option.  But no matter your age, optimal wellness and longevity are achievable!"
