About the Author

Jill Steele moved to Hawaii from Los Angeles 25 years ago to work at an orchid and tropical flower nursery. Until most recently, she lived in Kapoho, at the easternmost tip of the Big Island with her husband and her poi dog Luna. Her home was destroyed during the most recent volcanic eruption and now a lava river runs through the place where her neighborhood once was! This book, though written before that happened, is a record of a place that no longer exists. She started her business Hawaiian Magic Tropical Flowers at the same time she started her family, back in the early days of internet shopping.
