Description

Interior designer Nicolò Castellini Baldissera and fashion and interiors photographer Guido Taroni offer a privileged glimpse into the homes of Milan’s foremost creative residents.

Inside Milan ventures behind closed doors in this unique cultural capital that is renowned as a world leader in fashion, design, art, and industry. In this beautifully photographed book, icons such as Veronica and Jacopo Etro, Martina Mondadori, JJ Martin, and Barnaba Fornasetti reveal why they call this notoriously elusive city home.

From sophisticated clean lines and muted tones to rooms bursting with art and color, the palazzos and apartments showcased in this stunning volume uncover the creative heart of this vibrant and cosmopolitan metropolis. Nicolò Castellini Baldissera’s carefully curated collection of interiors features the homes of an array of leading creatives of Milan society, including—in addition to the aforementioned—artist Lola Schnabel; designers Hannes Peer, Emiliano Salci, and Osanna Visconti; and fashion designer Luisa Beccaria, among others.

With a cloth binding featuring an original Fornasetti drawing, gilded embossed type, and masterful color photographs by Guido Taroni, Inside Milan provides rare insights into the Milanese lifestyle.

About the Author

Nicolò Castellini Baldissera is an interior designer and decorator who has worked around the world over the past three decades. The great-grandson of Piero Portaluppi, a leading figure in Italian modern architecture, and son of Piero Castellini Baldissera, an accomplished architect and designer, he developed a characteristic style defined by color, collecting, and tastefully curated interiors. Born in Milan, Castellini Baldissera lives there and in Tangier. Inside Milan is his second book, following the success of Inside Tangier, his first collaboration with Guido Taroni.

Guido Taroni is a Milan-based interiors and fashion photographer. Working from a young age with his uncle, famed fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel, Taroni developed his own personal style rooted in the pursuit of chromatic harmony and sophisticated simplicity. His work has been regularly exhibited, as well as featured in acclaimed magazines such as Architectural Digest, Town & Country, and Cabana. Taroni’s books include Inside Tangier and Safari Style.
