Book Groups:

This is a great time of year to try a book group on for size.  Read the book in advance, if you can or just come and sit-in to see what you think. Bring either a light pupu or beverage to share; be prepared to relax and meet some fun people. All our book groups are free.

Just the Facts- Our Non-Fiction Group: Think your memory's going?  Want to improve your memory? We have just the book for you:  Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything  by Joshua Foer recounts Foer's yearlong quest to improve his memory under the tutelage of top 'mental athletes'.

Event info: Tuesday, June 26th @ 6pm

Second Tuesday- Our Fiction Group:

We are reading West of Here by Jonathan Evison. a grand and playful odyssey, a multilayered saga of destiny and greed, adventure and passion, that chronicles the life of one small town, turning America 's history into myth, and myth into a nation 's shared experience.  The New York Times Book Review calls it "Riotously funny . . . Wonderfully charming."

Event info: Tuesday, July 10th @ 6:30pm

Our Lesbian Group: Movie Night

We will show and discuss The World Unseen; in a world where boundaries are rigidly defined, two wildly different women tentatively cross them in this story that focuses on their budding romance in apartheid South Africa.

Event Info: Tuesday, July 17th @ 6pm

Words & Wine:
Words & Wine AudienceWords & Wine is taking a break in July.  Join us on August 7th for these fun writers:

Kirk Lee Aeder, Child of the Storm

Angela Sherwood, Virgin

The Writer's Support Group at Tutu's House, Coconuts and Pearls, 2012

I found this article from The New Yorker really funny: The Best Corporate/Literary Mash-ups.  My personal favorite is "1-800-Flowers for Algernon".
