Our next Lesbian Group meeting will be Tues, Dec. 21 @ 6:30.  We will discuss The Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson.  Ursula K. LeGuin says:  "The Stone Gods is a vivid, cautionary tale - or, more precisely, a keen lament for our irremediably incautious species."

"Just the Facts" is reading Catherine the Great: Love, Sex and Power by Virginia RoundingThe London Telegraph calls this "A great thumping triumph of a book. We will meet this Tuesday, December 28 at 6:30pm..

Aloha!
Kona Stories and the Grinch are going to be in the Kailua-Kona Christmas parade!  We've got the truck, the lights; we're going to dress-up like Who's and pass out used paperbacks as our holiday gift to the crowd.  If you'd like to be in the parade and are willing to dress-up like you're from who-ville, we'd love to have you join us.  Give us a call at 324-0350.  Don't delay!  The parade is Saturday, December 11th.
Who-ville

Our first "Words & Wine"!

We're hosting a 'First Tuesday' author event on Tues. Dec 7 @ 6pm.  Local authors will join us to talk story; we'll have some pupus and refreshments and fun.  Joining us will be:

  • Paul Csige has written The Symphony of Leif.  Paul is probably best known for his successful adaptation of the book "Voyage: The Discovery of Hawaii" by renowned historian and artist Herb Kawainui Kane into an award winning feature film, Voyagers. This is his first novel
  • John Rees has just published his second horror novel, Halocline.   Into the depths of madness Rees takes us on a journey to hell and back again.  Reese is working out of the box again and out of his mind. "Where does he get this stuff?" asks his publisher.  You'll have to decide...
  • Duke & Nancy Kell:  are partners in every aspect of life and will be talking about their new novel The Point of Origin"The answers to most of our questions have always been there, but our failure to connect the dots could mean the destruction of the human race."
  • Cynthia Wicks is a broad exaggeration of herself.  Her writing exemplifies this.  Kindergarten for Grown-ups is her first collection of poems and short comedic prose.  It is the culmination of 43 years of life and gratitude for her rich life experience.
