| | We're hosting a packing party Wednesday and Thursday, October 20 & 21.
Come and help us put all our books in boxes. We'll also talk story, have some food and maybe some beverages. Noon to 8pm.
We can use boxes! (Even if you can't help pack) Bring them in anytime.

| | Our next book for "The Second Tuesday" fiction book group is Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. This Pulitizer Prize winning book offers profound insights into the human condition--its conflicts, tragedies, and joys. We will discuss Tues Oct 12 @ 6:30pm.
We will watch a movie of Lesbian short filmsLesbian Nation at our next Lesbian group meeting on Tuesday October 19 at 6:30pm.
"Just the Facts" will take a break while Kona Stories Moves to our new space. We are reading One Bullet Away by Nathaniel Fick and will meet on Tuesday, November 23 at 6:30pm.

We busy getting ready for our move and have already met with the contractor at Keauhou. For our first event at Keauhou, we'll participate in the "Return of Thriller" Halloween event on Sat. Oct 30 from 2-9pm. Our special guest from 5-7 will be Bekka Black (a.k.a Rebecca Cantrell) author of Idrakula. A new 'style' of book that is e-book, texts, twitter, web-pages AND hard copy. Impress the teens in your life with a copy of this book.

Spiraling from Microcosm to Macrocosm. We will explore how spirals inform the cosmos and use the Fibonacci numbers associated with the mystical Phi to create our own Golden Spiral Drawings. New Writing Class: STEIN ON WRITING Writers of every stripe are invited to join the "Stein on Writing Group" at Kona Stories.

Sol Stein edited and published such outstanding writers and is the author of nine novels including The Magician. This tightly focused writing class will be moderated by writing enthusiast Bill McCowatt. They will meet every other Thursday at 6pm for 12 weeks to listen and learn from the audio-book Stein on Writing. Disciplined discussion and readings will follow.

Meanwhile, don't forget that we have hundreds of books on sale for half price! All types of books- fiction, non-fiction, cooking, business, self-help, keiki... Get in here and see for yourself. Used books are also on sale and we have some miscellaneous items we can't use in the new space: a refrigerator, toaster oven, 6 large bookcases, one metal roll-cart, a CD tower, Cd player and a Sterio Car-Amp (don't ask).
