| | The Sustainable Aloha group will meet in or Ohana Room on Tuesday, Sept 7 @ 6pm. This meeting, open to the public, is for the community to come together to discuss issues like alternative fuel, sustainability,
community gardens or watch a documentary film.
Our next book for "The Second Tuesday" fiction book group is Tinkers by Paul Harding. This Pulitizer Prize winning book is
about the legacy of consciousness and the porousness of identity from
one generation the next. We will discuss Tues Sept 14 @ 6:30pm..
We will discuss More of this World or Maybe Another by Barb Johnson at our next Lesbian group meeting on Tuesday Sept 21 at 6:30. The lives of four unlikely friends intersect on the backstreets of New
Orleans. Living amid poverty and violence, these fragile heroes of the
American underclass redefine our notions of family, redemption and love
"Just the Facts" is reading The Invention of Air: A story of Science, Faith by Steven Johnson. We will meet to discuss on Tuesday, Sept 28 at 6:30pm. This book tells the story of Joseph Priestley--scientist and
theologian, an 18th-century radical thinker
who played pivotal roles in the invention of ecosystem science, the
founding of the Unitarian Church, and the intellectual development of
the U.S.
