This year I took an early retirement from Saint Paul Public Schools. I loved my job and the people I worked with. I had some minor medical scares and some friends who were taken way too young. I decided I wanted time to promote my book, write more and just do other things. My children are grown; my husband encouraging me, what a perfect time.
Right now I'm still active with the Minnesota School Counselors Association, serving as Past President and I'm doing some consultant work for Saint Paul Public Schools, so I guess I haven't totally made the break. I'm not ready to totally let go yet and that is perfectly fine.
I love to walk! There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't walk at least a couple of miles and if I can be in the woods, I'm totally happy. Lucky for me, my husband enjoys walking and our walks are where we often have our best discussions.
