Karen Anderson is a freelance writer living on the island of Hawaii.

She is a regular contributor and feature writer for the "West Hawaii Today" newspaper and has also written for "Hawaii" magazine, "Big Island of Hawaii" magazine and the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce. She is the managing editor of a national trade magazine about school construction and was the longtime managing editor of the "CityLine" newspaper in Santa Ana, California.

Along with her dog, Miss Piggy, Karen is also the site manager for Kealakekua Bay Properties in Kona. She enjoys playing guitar and successfully fighting off millipeds and centipedes.
