Local Author Marian Eileen Charlton gives talk on "After-Life". Her rare-out of print book, "Life on the Causal Plane", is available at Kona Stories for $12.00.

Marian Charlton said she first became aware of her psychic abilities in 1970 when she was introduced to a "spirit guide" named "Rama". After nine years of communicating with Rama, Charlton said she could accurately "channel" for herself and others, so she quit teaching and became a full-time healer and counselor at the Healing Light Center in Glendale, California. Charlton said being a psychic is the ability to achieve an altered state and channel information coming from another source. She said it is a misconception that psychics can predict the future. She said the role she played was helping people who had hidden ideas causing physical and emotional pain. In 1981, Charlton joined the staff of a medical clinic at Cedars Sinai Hospital as a past life counselor. After appearing on national television in the program "In Search of the Aura" with Leonard Nimoy, she said her case load skyrocketed. The following year, Charlton moved to the Big Island, give reading and held classes on intuitive self-development there and on Oahu. Her clients, she said, were people who wanted to be responsible for their lives and make responsible choices. In the fall of 1997, Charlton said her deceased mother, Clara, contacted her after a reading for a friend. Charlton said at first she was very skeptical that it was her mother, but then she and her father, Carl, came in later and described his death and what he had been doing since then. "Life on the Causal Plane, a Glimpse of Heaven" is the book that came from her parent's channeled story. "It isn't my book" says Charlton, "it is my parents' book, their story".
