When I began writing The Orphan and the King, it was going to be a children's book. It slowly took the shape of an adult memoir. As it did its morphing, I was not sure if it was the healing process of writing about my own story of child abuse or the encouragement of others that was my story's purpose. I'm pretty sure now that it was both. The process was painful and exhilarating at the same time.
I've met wonderful people during this process, making new friends while learning to express myself. My hope now is that my story will reach many and encourage them to BECOME. We all need to find the courage to become the person God created in the beginning, before the events of our lives and our influential people tore away the many brave and beautiful parts. The enemy would like us to stay scared and small. God is cheering us on to be free, to be our original, magnificent selves.
My prayer for all my readers is - "Lord, I pray You will encourage each reader of The Orphan and the King. Please give them the courage they need to allow Your healing process to begin in their lives. Help them, Jesus, to call on Your name and be brave enough to walk with You through a very interesting, uphill process of becoming real, present, and the awesome original person You created. Amen." I am excited as this new adventure for me begins. I am praying for myself that Jesus will promote my little book and will use it for the ministry that He has given me, a healing ministry for women. At this time, in my town of Hilo, HI, I facilitate a women's group called, "A Time to Heal." It is a wonderful ministry and I hope it continues for a long time. I am ready to go along with any plans my King has for me. May God bless you who just visited my site today. ~Petie
