Young, Anna PDF Print E-mail

Twenty years ago Anna Young bought property in HOVE on the Big Island and has been a snowbird ever since.

She goes north to Alaska in the summers for fishing and painting, and returnes to Hawaii to build her art stuido and work on her bamboo farm in the winters.

Come along with me on some high seas adventures on my quest to know the sea and her boats, and paint them.

Part One: Over 100 illustrations and watercolors help set the stage in old Alaska, only four years after our fishing fleets were devastated by the 1964 Good Friday earthquake. Then join me crewing on the first commercial wild kelp harvest in Alaska, beach-combing, seining, tendering, cooking on crab boats, and gillnetting alone.

Alaska Fishing Volume 1 & 2 sold for $24.99 each.
