Words and Wine Author Event
Each month Kona Stories hosts an event with local and traveling authors. This event happens the first Tuesday evening of the month starting at 6 PM. Authors are available to talk story while you are getting your plate of pupus and glass of complimentary wine. Authors then give a 15 minute talk about their book and themselves, the writing and publishing process or a short reading from the book. After all the authors presentations there is a time for individual questions and book signings with the authors. Expect 3 -5 authors to attend each month and the evening to wrap up around 9 PM. Dress is Aloha casual wear.

HARD CANDY! Candice Summers, stage name "Candi," is the star stripper at Nockers' Up-Town Bar and Grille. By day, she attends an ultra-conservative college. In pursuit of her dream of becoming a writer of Christian romance novels, she enrolls in summer writing workshops at a remote conference center in the high mountains of Northeastern Oregon. The star attraction is an aging Russian refugee poet, Viktor Karshenko, who is mistakenly thought by all involved to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature along with its million dollar honorarium.  Ken Cohen and Grace Alvarez Sesma
Ken Cohen is a renowned health educator, Qigong Master, and practitioner of indigenous medicine. He is the author of the critically acclaimed books The Way of Qigong: The Art and Science of Chinese Energy Healing and Honoring the Medicine: The Essential Guide to Native American Healing, as well as numerous Sounds True audio/DVD courses and more than 200 journal articles on spirituality and health. Ken speaks and reads the Chinese language, and his academic training includes graduate study of Taoism and theology.

Grace Alvarez Sesma
The former administrator of a psychiatric partial hospitalization program, Grace has been in private practice as an energy healer and teacher since 1993. Born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, she is of mixed heritage, Mexican/Yoeme (Yaqui).
Meditations for InterSpiritual Wisdom is a collection of articles on meditation and prayer in different spiritual traditions as taught by authentic teachers of those traditions. In each article, the author gives context for a foundational practice of their tradition and follows it with instructions for carrying out this practice.
