What is the Feldenkrais Method®?
The Feldenkrais Method approaches human development and the improvement of functioning through physical movement.
Moshe Feldenkrais developed his method from is personal back ground of physics, mechanical engineering and judo, as well as his study of biomechanics, neurology and motor development, psychology, and martial arts.
This innovative method has gain international recognition for improving posture, flexibility, coordination, self-image, as well as alleviating muscular tension and pain.
Taught in both group Awareness Through Movement® classes and individual Functional Integration® lessons, the two applications engage a person's innate ability to self-organize towards more effective and intelligent action.
Who is Debra Lerman? Debra has been exploring and teaching movement for more than thirty years. She holds degrees in dance and physical therapy, and over the past ten years has practiced as a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®.
She has taught movement in universities, hospitals and private setting all over the United States. As a physical therapist, she has worked in orthopedic clinics, developed and taught "back School" programs, and spent eight years working exclusively with children and infants.
Presently, Debra practices on the Big Island of Hawaii, working with individuals of all ages, including those with serious pain and movement difficulties.
