To sweeten the deal we will have a special cookbook author here sampling something delicious from their books.  Cookbooks are excellent gifts and a personalized one even better.

Visiting Kona Stories Book Store on December 2, 2017 from noon – 2PM is Author and Honolulu Star Bulletin columnist Betty Shimabukuro.  She has been tracking down recipes for the Star Bulletin's "By Request" column since 1998. Possibly the one thing that has been requested more than any particular recipe is a cookbook. Now, readers finally have the answer to that request in By Request: The Search for Hawaii's Greatest Recipes.

This cookbook is filled with the most popular, memorable and favorite recipes uncovered by the column and includes recipes for a variety of dishes from robust main dishes to essential sides and luscious desserts and treats of all kinds. There is a special section dedicated to the legendary Top Five recipes of all time and another section of recipes from local celebrity chefs.

A joint project of the Honolulu Star Bulletin and Mutual Publishing, a portion of the proceeds of the sales of By Request: The Search for Hawaii's Greatest Recipes will benefit the Institute for Human Services.

Betty will be here to answer questions, personalize books and give out samples from By Request.
