John W. Adams began his study of Taijiquan in 1982 with Master Choy Kam Man of San Francisco\, and his senior students. In 1989 John was certified to teach the Traditional Yang Style of Taijiquan by Master Choy. John also graduated from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley\, California\, that year. He received certification in Acupressure and Zen Shiatsu and returned to a private practice in Fairbanks\, Alaska\, where he offered sessions\, lessons and classes in the healing arts. John’s qigong training also began in 1982 with the learning of The Eight Pieces of Brocade. In 1988 John began his study of Soaring Crane Qigong under the guidance of Master Zhao Xin Xiang and Chen Hui Xien. In 1992 John was certified by Master Zhao to teach Soaring Crane Qigong. In August\, 1999\, John graduated from The International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, with a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He returned to Fairbanks and continued his private practice until moving to the Big Island in 2003.

The idea for Sing and Hum came in the spring of 2003 while Mari was enrolled in a Certification Program at the Open Ear Center\, on Bainbridge Island\,WA. Mari was working with small children and kept asking the instructor\, "\;What about Children"\;? Mari brought the story idea to Maya\, a musician and artist who also worked with music as therapy. Maya wrote the poetic prose for Sing and Hum and vibrantly illustrated the book. Maya spent three years researching music and sound therapy in producing the CD soundtrack and composing the orchestration to the original guitar by Erik Sorensen. The fun inspiring message of Sing and Hum became a reality.

John W. Adams began his study of Taijiquan in 1982 with Master Choy Kam Man of San Francisco\, and his senior students. In 1989 John was certified to teach the Traditional Yang Style of Taijiquan by Master Choy. John also graduated from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley\, California\, that year. He received certification in Acupressure and Zen Shiatsu and returned to a private practice in Fairbanks\, Alaska\, where he offered sessions\, lessons and classes in the healing arts. John’s qigong training also began in 1982 with the learning of The Eight Pieces of Brocade. In 1988 John began his study of Soaring Crane Qigong under the guidance of Master Zhao Xin Xiang and Chen Hui Xien. In 1992 John was certified by Master Zhao to teach Soaring Crane Qigong. In August\, 1999\, John graduated from The International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, with a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He returned to Fairbanks and continued his private practice until moving to the Big Island in 2003.

John W. Adams began his study of Taijiquan in 1982 with Master Choy Kam Man of San Francisco\, and his senior students. In 1989 John was certified to teach the Traditional Yang Style of Taijiquan by Master Choy. John also graduated from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley\, California\, that year. He received certification in Acupressure and Zen Shiatsu and returned to a private practice in Fairbanks\, Alaska\, where he offered sessions\, lessons and classes in the healing arts. John’s qigong training also began in 1982 with the learning of The Eight Pieces of Brocade. In 1988 John began his study of Soaring Crane Qigong under the guidance of Master Zhao Xin Xiang and Chen Hui Xien. In 1992 John was certified by Master Zhao to teach Soaring Crane Qigong. In August\, 1999\, John graduated from The International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, with a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He returned to Fairbanks and continued his private practice until moving to the Big Island in 2003.

Debra Lerman has been exploring and teaching movement for more than thirty years. She holds degrees in dance and physical therapy\, and over the past ten years has practiced as a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®.
She has taught movement in universities\, hospitals and private setting all over the United States. As a physical therapist\, she has worked in orthopedic clinics\, developed and taught “back School” programs\, and spent eight years working exclusively with children and infants.
Presently\, Debra practices on the Big Island of Hawaii\, working with individuals of all ages\, including those with serious pain and movement difficulties.
